The company needed to expand its range of milling machines by developing a model designed specifically for dental production centers. The goal was to translate the User Centered Design concept introduced with the DS1 benchtop machine into a larger, more capable platform, one that could meet the productivity, automation, and workflow continuity requirements typical of industrial laboratories. The main challenge was to preserve ease of use, cleanliness, and operational clarity despite the increased functional complexity, while maintaining the formal design coherence that defines the Dyamach identity.

RS1 interprets and expands the design language of DS1, adapting it to a machine conceived for intensive and automated use — without compromising on ease of interaction. The design integrates ergonomic functionalities for on-board operation, featuring a wide access to the milling chamber and a fully front-facing layout that simplifies every action. Intuitive interfaces and maintenance areas are also positioned at the front, ensuring effortless accessibility. The result is a machine that combines industrial performance with user-friendly operation, while maintaining the visual and conceptual coherence of the Dyamach product range.
RS1 is a dental milling machine designed to meet the demands of professional production centers. Building upon the User Centered Design principles established with DS1, RS1 translates the same human-focused philosophy into a larger, automated, and high-performance platform. Developed through a design thinking approach, it balances industrial efficiency with intuitive usability, offering a machine that enhances productivity without compromising on user experience or design coherence.
RS1 marks the continuation of the collaboration initiated with DS1, reaffirming the company’s commitment to a design-driven development path aimed at achieving success not only through technological innovation, for which Dyamach is already recognized, but also through a distinct design language that reinforces its identity.
The project preserves the most iconic features of DS1 while evolving toward a more monolithic and industrial aesthetic, consistent with the needs of a professional production environment.
The color palette has been inverted, giving greater prominence to white, while the signature design cut has been retained only in the intermediate section, a deliberate choice to express solidity and structural weight.
The layering between the central body and the upper and lower sections has been further emphasized to create visual separation and lightness, balancing the overall perception of mass and proportion.
