Energy Mirror

Multilevel Energy Monitoring SaaS Dashboard

00

problem

Companies with complex energy systems powered by multiple sources need to continuously monitor consumption, detect anomalies, and identify potential system failures. However, traditional monitoring tools are often fragmented, difficult to read, or designed for only one type of user. This results in limited awareness of actual energy usage, difficulty in promptly detecting losses or malfunctions, and a lack of a shared operational language among the different stakeholders involved: business owners, technical managers, and external maintenance technicians.

solution

I designed a two-level SaaS dashboard system based on natural mapping and a clear information hierarchy. The Simplified View provides managers with an immediate understanding of overall energy consumption and performance. The Advanced View gives engineers and maintenance technicians access to detailed system data, allowing them to pinpoint faults, analyze individual assets, and monitor alerts and historical logs. A distributed sensor network supports the interface, enabling automatic detection of anomalies and helping prevent energy losses.

Integrating a natural mapping interface with a 3D visual representation of physical assets significantly improves system comprehension for both experienced users and beginners.

Compared to traditional 2D dashboards, often abstract and harder to interpret, the spatial visualization of equipment and energy flows enables a more intuitive understanding of how the system operates and where issues may arise.

By clusterizing users based on their roles and needs, we were able to design an experience that adapts to very different levels of expertise, while still maintaining a single unified platform.

This approach allows managers, engineers, and maintenance technicians to access the same system from their own perspective, without compromising clarity or depth of information.
